Instead of hoping for others to
be there for you, let’s make a society in which you are there for anyone and
everyone who needs your help. Talking about patriotism sitting on our couch, or
texting on twitter does not make significant difference to the country. If we
see patriotism as a practical application instead of a theory, it is divided
into two parts. The two parts are macro and micro patriotism, Macro patriotism
is out of reach for most of us, but micro patriotism is simple and easy to
practice. Picking a piece of paper or an ice-cream wrapper from the road, come
under micro patriotism. Standing up for you and for others is micro patriotism.
Inculcating a spirit of being Indian in our heart is required. Mere believing
in the growth of the country is enough, instead of cursing it for what’s wrong.
Take the responsibility keeping roads clean or keeping calm while driving on
the roads and reduce honking and cussing on other car drivers. The spirit lies
in our heart, we just need to awaken the spirit. If you have the spirit already
awake, then spread the spirit of micro patriotism with others as well. Talking
kindly with anybody and everybody, following rules, Traffic rules, standing in
a queue is required. Micro-patriotism is
a feeling required to be instilled in each citizen of the country. let’s see
India with a different perspective. Not as a country which has poverty, pollution,
corruption, dirt, dishonesty and what not. Let’s see it like a place that is
the origin of our being, a place that completes what we are, and our identity. Then
why do we curse something that makes or builds our identity. Let’s see India as
a place that we belong to. It is very important for employs to be proud and
happy being a part of a company. A similar concept applies to our country as
well. Micro-patriotism does not require you to go out of the way; instead it
requires you to make some small changes in your ongoing ways. We got to do
whatever we like, or are passionate about, or are a part of our job, but all
this with a sense of love and dedication for the country. How difficult can it
be to embrace Indian culture? We are already so good at adapting other cultures.
Let’s change, change for good. I know it’s stylish, sexy and trendy to embrace
other cultures. But guys a country can prosper only when they make their own
rules, follow their own rules. Let’s make our own trends, our rules, the
“Indian way”. I know it is difficult to do, but once it happens; there is no
stopping…..
Always try to turn every disaster into an opportunity. -Rockfeller This article is based on the conclusions derived from the book Rich dad Poor dad and my own little experiences with the financial world. The author of the book has made it a point, for us to understand that in whichever stage of life, you are in, you need to be financially literate. Be it a student, house wife or a corporate worker.
